Summer is home to lots of bugs, so I found black bed netting that covered the pyramid with a little tucking here and there at the base to hold it. Velcro tabs held the entrance closed. Pea gravel now lined the pathways of the spiral and the directional markers from the medicine wheel had been repainted and sealed, finding their place in the spiral. I was shown I could still use it as a Medicine Wheel by walking the outside circle of the Spiral as I had done before.
The pyramid had created spaces where planters filled with various herbs would grow in the energy of the portal. Others were added to the outer south edge of the Spiral – basil, oregano, rosemary, and thyme. Over the course of the summer, I would harvest from these plants drying their abundant gifts for use in the kitchen. As I write this, at the end of November 2023, they are still producing abundantly.
The Cardinal Direction Markers & crystals or objects of significance from the Medicine Wheel were also added in the Spiral Pathway, another way of incorporating those energies. There was also the question of what would be used around the Flower of Life Centre stones within the pyramid. Another question for Hank!
When I was designing the master plan, I did not account for the ‘extras ‘ such as the extended width of the pyramid due to the size of the corners or the width of the rocks that formed the pathway, so I adjusted the spiral to accommodate a 20” pathway plus the size of the stones. The finished spiral is about 20’/6.1 m in width.
